Hey, hey, welcome to happy tales of happy tales, the podcast where you’ll hear stories of the way pups have touched our hearts and our lives. So for the next few minutes, let everything else go and just listen and smile. I’m your host, Julie Jackson. Hey, friends, hope you’re having a good day. So I need your help. Tried to do a little meditation this morning. I know, I know, you would think that I would be some Zen master with the pack that I live with. I know, it’s shocking that maybe this is not my area of expertise. But I think I’m doing it wrong. And so those of y’all that have a really well developed meditation practice, you know, just to unwind, just to kind of decompress a little bit. Help me out here. So I got to do meditation this morning. And I close my eyes, I’m sitting up, I’ve got my palms up, I’m taking a deep breath. And I hear a little commotion as you do. And then I feel the cold nose right against my nose, and the heavy sniff all over my face. And if you have dogs, if you have kids, you know what I’m talking about. You don’t have to open your eyes. You know who it is. But just for grins, I just slowly opened one eye to peek. And yes, there’s Barney right there in my face, in my face. And I don’t know, you remember, there was an artist several years ago that released a whole bunch of really funny pictures of dogs where, you know, it looked like they were taken with almost a fisheye lens right at the tip of their nose, kind of like you’re looking at them through the peephole of your front door. That’s what it was like, he’s right there extreme close up. So I just close my eye, you know, ignore him “Don’t make eye contact, don’t make eye contact, don’t make eye contact”. And so he proceeds to roll down in front of me. And with his big ol paw, he just starts shoving my knee, like not punching in an aggressive way but “hey, hey, hey, hey, hey”, over and over again. Once again, “don’t make eye contact, don’t make eye contact”. So of course, I’m doing my meditation, but I’m thinking this is not the way it’s supposed to work. I may not be doing it right. And finally, he’s he kind of settles down a little bit. And of course, as soon as the meditation is over, he’s done. He’s, he’s done with his, I guess that’s his meditation. And he leaves. And so now I’m finished. And I’m calling him so that I can come snuggle him. And he just looks at me like, “What do you want? I’ve got things to do”. And of course, his brother, though, sees the opportunity and comes over and lays right across me. And we get to have some snuggles together. So I don’t know if maybe I was tagg teamed, or if that’s just what they do. One of my friends, my friend Michelle, and I always joke that they do things for very specific”reasons” that we would never be capable of understanding. He’s right here. I don’t know if you can even hear him sniffing too, right here. And so I don’t know, maybe it was just “reasons”. But those of you who have a very well developed meditation process, maybe you can give me some tips and pointers because I’m not sure that, I suspect that I might not be doing this right. Anyway, thanks for help. And hey, remember, you are as great as your pup thinks you are and smooch your pooch! Thanks, y’all.
